I've been making some backend code changes mostly in the PHP code of the site and some more search engine optimizations since I already started doing those about two weeks ago. The SEO changes include mostly Structured Data in JSON-LD format. Other changes include that I put the site map available for the visitors and ended up coding my own plugin for Serendipity that powers the News of the site.
Made some search engine optimization changes in the code of the site. This doesn't affect the visitors of the site since all of the changes were made in the backend of the site. Just updated all of the meta descriptions to be a little more descriptive of the pages and updated the robots.txt as well as the XML site map of the site. There is also a HTML site map which I probably will incorporate to the site some day.
Today antman.info website got more secure as it was SSL certified and now uses https:// instead of http://
I had been thinking about getting a certificate for some time and now it's reality. Just wanted to do this to offer more security for the visitors as the usage of SSL technology ensures that all data transmitted between the web server and browser remains encrypted.
Since I upgraded Bootstrap from version 3.3.7 to version 4.0.0 about two weeks ago there have been minor issues with the menu system because I just did a dirty upload and replace upgrade. Now those issues have been fixed and the whole menu system has been rebuilt from scratch. All of these things have been done to improve the menu system:
Upgraded SmartMenus from version 1.0.1 to version 1.1.0
Made some tweaking on the layout of the site. This is the first major change in the layout since last February when there were major changes on the website. Today's updates include the following changes:
added a background image (not visible on the mobile version)
added a logo header (not visible on the mobile version)
